Hill City School District is proud to be designated a 7002 federally impacted school district. Our location in the Black Hills National Forest includes thousands of federally owned acres. In lieu of local taxes, the district receives federal funding through the Impact Aid Program. Secure Rural Schools (SRS) funding is also received by the district. These federal dollars, associated with timber management, also play a vital role toward funding the educational programs available to Hill City School District students.
