Dear Parents and Guardians:
Our food service department looks forward to providing healthy and delicious meals for your child(ren) during the 2018-2019 school year! In this section of our website, you will find information about the Free and Reduced Meal Application. We encourage all families to complete this important form and return it to your child’s school building or to the central office prior to the start of school.
The information you provide remains strictly confidential and is only used for federal grant application purposes. The data collected from the application is used to determine the amount of federal funds our district receives through the national school lunch program and also impacts our federal Title I allocation which is funding used to support instructional services at our elementary school. Having the most complete data set ensures our district receives the maximum benefit from these federal funding sources.
Thank you very much for reviewing this document and your time completing the application if you choose to do so. We would like to receive completed applications as soon as possible, however, an application may be turned in anytime during the school year if the household status changes.Return your completed application to: Hill City School District P.O. Box 659 Hill City, SD 57745. Only ONE application needs to be submitted per household.
Feel free to contact Roxann DuBois, our food service program director if you have any questions.
Please remember that it is the responsibility of the parent or adult household member who signs the application to completely fill out the application.
If we need to contact the household for additional information it delays the approval process and this could cause you to pay for additional meals.
It could take up to 10 days to process & approve your application. Your child must pay for his/her lunch or bring a lunch from home until the application is approved.
Children in households receiving SNAP or TANF can get free meals without applying. The food service office will be directly notified by DSS. Contact the food service office at 574-3012 if you do not receive a letter by September 30, 2018.
